Our Services

Practice Areas

Civil Litigation

For more than 20 years, Formica, PC has served individuals, businesses and insurance companies in complex matters involving personal injury, medical malpractice, employment, civil rights, business disputes, and federal agency litigation. We practice regularly in both State and Federal Trial Courts.

Immigration

For more than 20 years we have provided businesses and individuals with counsel and representation in complex immigration matters. In the current hostile political climate towards immigration, our representation has increasingly involved litigation against the Department of Homeland Security.

Civil Appeals

Our representation does not end with the trial courts. We represent our clients before the Connecticut Appellate Courts and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals

Client Selection

Many law firms believe the strength of their practice is determined by the number of attorneys on their payroll. At Formica P.C., we see the strength of our practice in the quality of our clients. Technology has transformed the practice of law, and what once required a large law library and legions of associate attorneys now can be accomplished with a laptop and online research subscriptions. However, technology cannot replace the creative interaction that occurs when the attorney and client meet to brainstorm a problem. This is important to the selection of our clients: we ask, is this someone with whom we can work creatively to resolve the issue? Over the years, we have found that if the relationship with the client is difficult, then everything that follows is labor and a chore. The outcome is never worth the effort for either party. In addition to deciding whether we have the capacity to take on the client’s case, we decide whether the client is someone with whom we can work successively.

This attention to client selection has resulted in many relationships that last long after a case has been resolved. It is the strength of our practice and the meaning in our profession.
